An Encouraging Word
Time for some encouragement.
I'm swamped by the school year ... how 'bout you?
But I have to admit, no matter how crazy & hectic the days are, I always look forward to Thursday and Friday afternoons. ;)' You guys have been great in class and I appreciate your enthusiasm and willing participation in all the games.
Believe it or not, you are learning something ...
Be accountability partners for each other this week (and for me too!). Ask a fellow drama student to recite his/her monologue for you to help with memorization. Remind your friends to make time to work on their lines. Even a couple of minutes at recess or during break will help.
Much repetition over time: that's how you memorize something.
And take heart: you will learn the lines . . . and live to tell about it. =)
Thursday's the first big challenge. I shall be praying for you all.

Question you can comment on:
Who is the most interesting story character to you? And why?
(If you are fascinated by several characters from books, plays, or movies, just pick your favorite.)

Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice is a good character. Well, it's more the fact that I'm continually amazed at how the actress that plays her (Jennifer Ehle), can convey so many different emotions without saying anything...just using her face. That's subtexting in action, I guess! :-D
ONE of my favorite book characters is Ramone in the book Old Ramone. I doubt any of you have ever read it, but it was one of my childhood favorites (and I still love it). I really enjoy all the stories that he tells while watching his sheep and the very unique person he is. He is one of the oddest persons I have ever read about, and thats probably why I like him so much. Quite Unique! Bethany
lets see
I love the book Anne of Green Gables!
Her character is just funny. The way her character thinks is complicated and confusing. But I love to try and figure out what is going on behing the little turning wheels.
so thats a great book for subtexting in my opinion. so, yehp thats my fave.

Taylor, Anne is one of my favorites, too, and has been every since I was...I don't know...8 or 9. Oftentimes, she reminds me a lot of me! :-D By the way, who is anonymous?
By the way, if anyone wants to say their monolouge to me for practice, I'm all for it! I can't wait to hear all of them! Keep it up, guys! :-D
Hehe! I was trying to think of an interesting story character and I thought of Moses from the Bible. (I know I'm strange.) But seriously, I think it's cool how Moses wasn't very good at speaking, but God used him anyway. Yep, I have rhetoric on my mind... :D
Rebekah
BTW, Anne of Green Gables is cool too!
Frodo i think that he has more determindation than anyone i have ever read about. Rock on Frodo Baghead!
Anne is a very fun character... I also like Susan in The Chronicles of Narnia because she changes so much through the books...but Anne is very cool!
P.S. Jessie sometime I will read my monologue to you, if you want to hear it :-)
of course i couldn't think of any character from a book, so i choose from movie. if any of y'all ever get a chance to see Red Eye, you should b/c it's one of those intense butt whoopin movies-though it is kinda objectional in some parts (language of course). But anyways i thought the girl, Lisa Reisert, was pretty interesting, b/c in the beginning she's quiet and controlled but at the end she becomes unleashed, and really suprises you, her character seems almost completely changed...i don't wanna ruin it for you though so i won't say anything else, but thats my pick...off the top of my head.
hmm... probably something from Ancient Mythology- haha.. like... Egyptian shtuff... cause I'm obsessed like that... iono- Henry the eigth was pretty sketch-*shruggs* there are lots of cool people ... not necessarily from books- but from everywhere.
