Collecting Thoughts

So, post a comment here and tell me what you think the AC folks did WELL in their production of Midsummer.
Think about the acting, the interpretation, the set design, the costumes, the "mood" of the play, the way the actors communicated their lines ...

I'll throw in my 2 cents shortly.

**And please make sure you've read the post below this one ... thanks**

I thought the costumes were good, except the girl's dresses! I really liked the Fairy World it was pretty cool. Puck's hair was just awesome!

yeah, i agree with taylor. but i think cobweb?'s hair was definitely the coolest. i really liked the blocking for the lover's fight scene. and everyone told me that i just had to play wall like that guy.

hehe claire is the wall with *dun dun dunnnnn* buff stones- hehehehe that's hot. *cough*

I think the costumes were good overall.. one or two could have been done differently or better and the girls' dresses were not very flattering.. at all.-- the Fairy world was good contrast. they added their own jokes by doing things (in character) that just seemed to fit into the play- the lighting made scene changes flow very smoothly althought several times I thought they rushed into the next scene a bit to fast... my brain still hadn't caught up from the last scene.

Cobweb's hair was really cool! I thought the lovers' fight scene was blocked pretty well. I also liked when they carried the screaming Quince off stage :D.

i was really impressed with the lovers in the fight scene...they never kept their backs to tha audience and hermia did really well fighting! the fairy world was awsome...and the mohawk is sooo cool!!! maby puck could get a mohawk like thing?!!? :) Lion & wall & moonshine did a VERY good job of having character!

I thought the Wall rocked! (no pun intended)! The whole play could have been bad and the Wall made up for it all. :) I liked Lysander and Hermia...I didn't like D & Helena, but in the book you don't like them as much...they did a good job interperting their lines. I didn't like the Court very much...the mechanicals were good, (It was hard to not picture what we do with the mechs though). I thought Puck did a GREAT job. Oberon did a very good job too. I liked the simpleness of the stage. I liked the way the faries had their personality in their costumes. I also like the 2 guy's (L & D) costumes. The over all blocking was well done too. It definatly provided a lot of laughs in the later half of the play...the guys did a great job being 'drunk with love'!!!

I thought overall it was pretty good.I didnt like the lovers or the lispy Duke.I did really like the mechanicals,I thought (Grants)Quinces scream was really good.I thought Puck was really really good I loved her hair, but not how she and Oberon were really close. It was defiantly a very
funny performance.

All the mechanicals were excellent in the last scene. I laughed through the whole Pyramus and Thisbe thing. Wall, Moonshine, and Lion did a good job drawing funny personalities out of their small parts.

The lovers were pretty good, and got better as time went on. The fight scene, I agree, was well blocked. It would be funny if Sam picked up Taylor mid-fight like Lysander picked up Hermia. :-D

Oberon was awesome. Titania was awful. The fairies did well with having personality. The whole Puck as love-interest thing was weird, but overall, I think Puck did a good job, too.

I wasn't impressed with the Court.

Okay, so that was long...but that's what I thought of the play.

Yeah, I agree, the court was unimpressive; they didn't seem very royal.

The fight scene was cool, our blocking came along nicely today!

I am glad that practice went well! Everyone seems to be moving along...keep up the good work!

Hm welp, the play definitely gets props for being funny...but I struggled to find a lot of stuff I liked outside of that. The fight scene was good but it felt like there was no actual feeling in it...like they were fighting just for the fun of it. The play came off a lot like a cartoon actally.
